Assistant Special Teams Coach
Wilson Sake
Born in Columbia, South Carolina, and raised on a U.S. Army base in Tokyo, Japan, Austin “Sake” Wilson developed a passion for football that transcended borders. After returning to the U.S., he planted new roots in South Carolina and set his sights on a career in football.
In 2018, Wilson launched his semi-professional career with the Garden City Seahawks in Augusta, Georgia. Over the course of a remarkable seven-year journey, he carved out a legacy across multiple levels of the sport — from semi-professional leagues to Professional Arena Football and even International Football. His time on the field was marked by excellence and achievement, earning league titles, national championships, and international bowl victories with every team he joined.
Wilson concluded his playing career with the Iredell Warriors in North Carolina, where he stepped away from the game due to medical retirement. Now, in his first year as a coach, he brings that same competitive drive and strategic creativity to the sidelines. Passionate about special teams, he's eager to develop innovative schemes that give his players a winning edge.
From globe-trotting beginnings to championship triumphs, Austin “Sake” Wilson continues to make his mark on the game—with heart, grit, and vision.
